Personal Description:

Hello there!

I'm a 28 year old professional actor who trained at one of the country's top drama schools - East 15 Acting School. I trained on the Conference of Drama Schools accredited Acting & Contemporary Theatre B.A Hons Course. Essentially - I was trained to be an Actor, a director and a writer

I have been working as an actor fairly consistently since I graduated in 2010. I was just about to begin my third tour of the year - a pantomime tour of Sleeping Beauty when I picked up an injury right at the end of a tour of Treasure Island in late October.

I was planning on beginning to tutor at the end of my Pantomime contract in February 2014. However due to injury I am now free to start.

Tutoring Experience:

I have run countless acting workshops at both Primary and Secondary schools this year. These workshops mainly focused on the importance of reacting, stage presence, voice projection as well as all the other key approaches to acting on stage.

I have also tutored a couple of friends of the family in audition technique specifically regarding gaining entry to Drama School. Both of these students were accepted onto acting courses.

Tutoring Approach:

My main strengths as a tutor are as an acting coach and as an audition specialist.

My approach as an acting coach can be catered to the students specific needs. Which can include any number of different acting disciplines.

However my own personal approach to acting is reacting. This approach does what it says on the tin. Reacting to the outside influences the character comes into contact with rather than faking or pretending. It's also an approach which involves creating a genuine character from scratch. This includes focusing on: physicality, the character's emotional life and back story.

During my time at East 15 my writing teacher was April De Angelis, and writing is another of my aspirations.

In fact I wrote two of my own audition speeches which helped me get into not one but two drama schools.

Since this time I have also written speeches for several friends which have helped them get into drama school and get professional acting work.

Writing specially tailored speeches is an additional part of the service I offer to students who seek help with audition technique or who hope to get into drama school.
