Personal Description:

I am 27 years old and I love teaching! I first started teaching 8 years ago as a music tutor and gained experience teaching children, teenagers and adults. I have worked for 7 summers at a summer camp in Maine teaching teenagers from all over the world. My main roles at camp were being a counsellor to the children, teaching bikes, climbing and fitness, It was at camp where I decided to commit myself to teaching as a career. I completed my PGCE in computing and worked at 2 fantastic schools, I completed my NTQ year at a secondary school in Kent teaching computer science, ICT and business studies.

My primary job this year is lecturing in Computing, Cybersecurity and Foundation Maths

I love working with young people and being able to teach valuable skills, I believe that my experience with a broad range of people has helped me develop a unique teaching style.

Tutoring Experience:

I currently lecture at Chester University in computer science and cyber security, with an emphasis on programming.

My PGCE in computing from Canterbury Christ Church University taught me a lot about delivering the new computing curriculum to years 7-13 and I thoroughly enjoyed learning about and experimenting with different methods of teaching.

As part of my PGCE I worked at 2 secondary schools in east Kent, and I was able to find my own style of teaching and enjoyed working with students of different ability levels, and many students with additional educational needs.

I have just completed my NQT year at Sittingbourne Community College where I mainly taught computer science. I created my own lessons and was solely responsible for the academic outcomes of the first year 9 group to do computer science, I also had the opportunity to teach business studies to students in years 9-13, including the BTEC qualification. I spent a lot of my time working with students with complex educational needs and develop

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that each person is different and therefore the stye of tutoring should be unique to person. I like to learn as much as I can about my students goals and use my extensive background knowledge to help people learn in their own style.
