Information About James - Bath tutor - (2 reviews)
This is how 3 referees rated James:
I am a 3rd year PhD chemistry student at University of Bath. My Research focuses on the synthesis of novel bio-based polymers and initiators. Overall I would say I am confident in organic, inorganic chemistry and have a lot of experience in sustainability and sustainable chemical practice.
My passion really stems from the need to limit the ecological footprint of modern chemistry.
Main teaching experience focuses on GCSE, A-level and undergraduate level teaching. I have 3 recent years private tutoring and teaching experience with a teaching accreditation awarded in 2016 for excellence.
Previously, worked as a academic mentor for students at University of York and the University of Sussex.
Prior to this I gained 2 years valuable experience mentoring GCSE and A-level Chemistry to students in the Brighton and Hove area, trying to education and encourage students on the best possible ways to pursue careers in chemistry.
I believe to get the most out of tutoring the session need to be flexible to the tutees needs. I am comfortable carrying out sessions on basic principles, tutorial issues, exam technique, going through past papers as well as some more complex concepts. A feedback relationship focusing on the route issues and challenges I believe, is essential. By designing sessions on the goals you wish to achieve and the way you think, we can build a system which works for you .
