I am a science teacher at the Howard of Effingham School. I graduated from the University of Bath in 2005 with a Chemistry and Business degree and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 2 years before moving to London and working for Marks and Spencer as a buyer. I decided I wanted to work back in my subject specialism and help cultivate a passion for the sciences amongst children and young adults, retraining as secondary school teacher.
I have previously worked at Glebelands School in Cranleigh, teaching Year7 - 11 across the three core sciences. I currently work at the Howard of Effingham teaching KS5 as well. Asside from academic teaching I also ran boot camps and provided personal training while living in London.
In the classroom, my driving goal is to provide a personalised learning experience for each student and ensure they each make progress. However tutoring is about tailoring a students development based on their individual learning needs and making significant steps to improve upon the baseline given at their school. I believe an effective tutor will identify areas in need of development and turn these into strengths.
