I am a friendly and enthusiastic qualified Science teacher with 13 years' experience, supporting pupils to achieve their best results As a WJEC, AQA and EDEXCEL Examiner I have an intimate knowledge of the exams sat for GCSE and A Level being involved in their marking and development. I am DBS checked and I have taught in the very best schools in Wales. I have progressed to work at Cardiff University Lecturing teachers in Educational practice and working with schools all over Wales to enhance their provision, and developing educators of the future. I have a degree in Medical Pharmacology, PG Diploma in Medical Toxicology, with a Masters in Management and Professional Development a degree in Engineering, and I have completed my Masters in Education, and I am working towards a PhD in education. I am a registered scientist and have achieved the acclaimed chartered science teacher award ( only 6 people in Wales have achieved this). I am able to teach Chemistry and Biology to A level standard, All sciences at GCSE and below. I am able to support all pupils, from all ability levels and have had exceptional results as a classroom teacher and a tutor. I am WJEC examiner, and mark for WJEC meaning I have intimate knowledge of the exam process, exam technique and how best to support learning as well an preparing exam technique. I currently work with the AQA and EDEXCEL(Pearson) as examiner and have experience,with many exam boards. . As part of my role in the University I am involved in admissions, checking personal statements and assessing the calibre of students attending the university. I am also able to support with personal statements, and also entrance exams. I also am I visiting lecturer for Cardiff Metropolitan University delivering their PGCE in Biology to trainee teachers.
I have been tutoring and teaching all levels of science for 13 years, and I have taught in the best schools in Wales. I now lecture teachers at Cardiff University in the best ways to support learning and teaching of pupils, and work with schools across Wales to develop their teaching practice. I am an advanced stage practitioner and research active around best practice pedagogy. I have a friendly approach to tutoring, and make difficult concepts easier to understand using everyday examples. I have helped pupils go on to achieve excellent results, with students developing from D grades to A at AS and A2 level, and countless success with GCSE pupils at all levels and abilities, from those requiring greater support to pupils who need fine tuning to achieve an A* grade. I am able to teach all science to GCSE (Chemistry, Physics and Biology) and I teach AS/A2 level Chemistry and Biology, Medical Science.
