This is how 2 referees rated Jake:
I am a friendly and understanding teacher, my aim as a tutor is to find the way in which each individual student learns, then to teach them in the way which they will understand best.
I am currently a fourth year PhD student studying at University of Manchester, so have evenings free to teach.
I have a Distinction in MSc Mathematics from the university of Sussex as well as a First Class with Honours in BSc Mathematics from the university of Loughborough.
I tutor all levels and all ages, from Primary school all the way to undergraduate level, as well as adult learners.
I have been tutoring for the past four years and have had many students of varying ages, achieving great success, including 100% scores in some exams.
In the past year I have taught junior and secondary school level, GCSE, A-level and first year university level.
I have tutored many of my peers in courses we were both studying at the time, my flair for teaching was sparked by this.
I aim to understand which way the student learns best, and then find the best examples and theory to teach accordingly, I find this method to be very effective, some students learn better when seeing many examples of the theory at work.
