Information About Jairam - Hitchin tutor - (1 review)
My name is Jairam Singh . I am currently studying Mathematical Science BSc Hons at City University. I have just passed my second year, and am now taking a year out to teach and tutor students. I am interested in tutoring because I believe gaining teaching experience at this stage of my degree would be an asset, and would be essential to achieving my ultimate goal of becoming a teacher. I am a young, reliable and hardworking student. When I was studying for my A-Levels I had a tutor for Mathematics, so I can empathise and connect with my students and understand how important it is to make things as straightforward as possible. As I have been in their position I can fully appreciate the needs and requirements of all students and truly believe that Maths is thoroughly enjoyable as long as it is clearly explained.
This is the first time I have applied for tutoring professionally but I believe I have the necessary skills to help a student reach their full potential, and attain the grades they desire. I have two younger brothers, one is 18 and the other is 7. I tutored the older one through his GCSEs and helped him achieve an A* in Mathematics. My youngest brother is in Yr 2 and I am helping him prepare for his Key Stage 1 SAT's exams.
I am currently tutoring students in GCSE Mathematics and also 11+, having met them through First Tutors.
I strongly believe in helping students reach their full capabilities but I also think Mathematics does not have to be tedious and boring. I want students to enjoy what they are learning as this makes it easier for them to understand any specific topics they have a problem with. I will go over any areas of difficulty and also prepare for upcoming topics before I see the student. I will discuss exam techniques and help with a strategic revision timetable. It is really important to me that I help my students reach the best grade he or she can achieve.
