Hello, my name is Jackie and I am 48 years old. I am a mum of three and live with my family and husband. I enjoy teaching and learning and helping others.
I have 25 years of teaching in secondary schools, I was a Head of Geography and an Assistant Head of Humanities for over 12 years. I am currently teaching part-time when I can , most recently in a Banbury School, as well as, tutoring personally. I have taught the full range of exam groups, and tutored in small groups and one-to one basis, Geography (GCSE /I-GCSE and AS and A2 level,) and Geology (GCSE), History and RE (KS3 and GCSE). I have also tutored English, Maths, Science and Humanities on a one-to-one basis to children (Years 7 to Yr13) and adults. I have taught study skills and preferred learning styles to students and adults (functional skills & gcse), which has led them to know and understand how to improve their own learning. I have mentored teachers, adults and students in their learning with a wide variety of subjects. I have recently (within last 6 mths) tutored a range of ages (5 to 45) in a wide variety of subjects e.g. maths, literacy, English, science, anatomy & physiology, study skills, geography, geology, history, RS, 11 plus/entrance exams for Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and more. I regularly help with entrance exams from Primary to Secondary schools. I have also helped with students entering Education and the professional skills tests.
I enjoy learning, teaching and helping others find their best way of learning. I am a caring, patient person who looks for the best way to help you find your success. I will help you find your preferred learning style and show you how this can successfully lead to a better understanding, knowledge and skills with your chosen subject. I am a very good listener, but also actively help you to build up your own ability to study and complete exams and tests.
