Personal Description:

experienced teacher and tutor. former practising lawyer.

I see many students from the local unis, (BCU, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Staffordshire) so I am very familiar with courses offered and exam & course work requirements at these institutions.

I am a barrister with experience of practicing law and I have also spent a lot of time as a law lecturer, a supply teacher, a crammer, a private tutor, teaching is what I do, it is what I’m good at. I have twenty five years experience of filling the gaps left by universities and getting students through their exams.

Tutoring Approach:

hands on.

Throughout my teaching career I have made use of appropriate learning and teaching methods, at times being innovative using role play techniques such as mock trials & interviews, field trips and at other times downright traditional methods. I have planned and designed courses, as a private tutor I have to do this with every student and I am constantly aware of quality standards.

Research, Enterprise & Scholarship. As a law teacher research is a constant requirement, as a supply teacher teaching unfamiliar subjects it was a necessity. With regard to creative writing I read extensively, I am willing to bet more than any other candidate for this position. I use social media and blog extensively. I look forward to extending my opportunities for research. I have PhD plans.
