I am passionate about Biology and love my teaching. I have a first class honours degree and PhD and have been an examiner in the past.
I am very proud of the success I have had with my private tutoring, having helped many students achieve the grades they need to gain entry to the university courses of their choice including medicine, veterinary medicine and dentistry.
In 2016 four of my students achieved A star, four got A and two got B. One said, "I would not have been able to achieve the A without your support and passion for the subject. I will not hesitate to recommend you, you have been great." Another said, "I got an A star and feel that the help you gave me made a real difference." Another said, "I got an A star with 298/300 marks, which is no doubt due to the time we spent together going over the hard parts of the syllabus."
I have many successful years experience of teaching Biology in both independent and state schools and as a private tutor, and am well qualified in Biology and education. I have a first class honours degree and a PhD in Biology as well as a Masters degree in Science Education.
I have helped many students from Godalming College, Alton College, Peter Symonds College and Churcher's College. Last year of my 8 students, 4 got A star, 4 got A and 2 got B.
I love my subject and like to make my teaching as fun and interesting as possible.
I am patient and friendly and understand how difficult some of the topics can be for students. I feel I have a particular expertise in exam technique. One of the students I tutored this year said how much her confidence had improved thanks to my tutoring. I am very happy to make concise notes for the student on the topics we cover.
I only teach in my own home.
