This is how 2 referees rated Huw:
I hold a PhD and MSci in Mathematics from the University of Bristol for which I have obtained numerous awards. My speciality is Mathematical Physics within which I have enjoyed the success of creating and publishing new mathematics. I enjoy complementing my academic career with an active lifestyle including rock climbing, surfing and cycling.
During my eight years studying at Bristol I helped pioneer a new tutoring format to help undergraduate mathematics students. This stepped away from the traditional presentation style to an interactive form lead by the student's questions, learning styles and interests. Since 2011 I have built on these highly successful and flexible techniques to additionally provide A-level tuition and have been impressed by the results.
Tutoring allows the unique opportunity for a student to engage with a particular topic, syllabus or the wider application of a subject in a way best suited to their individual needs. I aim to tailor my tutorials to best take advantage of this, based on what the student is looking to gain from each tutoring session. This could include discussing a method, working through questions together, planning and revising for an examination, guided note writing or simply informally answering questions the student has.
I strive to create a relaxed atmosphere to help students truly master and enjoy a subject that will prove useful for their future goals, including passing any looming examinations.
I'm happy to help with any A-level syllabus. At degree level I can support the mathematics content of most courses (but I'm not a statistician). Within a maths degree I'm happy to tutor many pure or applied modules including analysis, complex analysis, calculus, multi-variable calculus, ordinary and partial differential equations, linear algebra, mechanics, quantum mechanics, quantum information theory and many more.
Please feel free to discuss your needs with me, I look forward to hearing from you.

We would highly recommend Huw.
We covered the material in good time and Huw gave me a well rounded understanding of the material. He put material into different forms in the case that one form wasn't enough, such as diagrams, for which were never provided in lectures. Huw not only gave me a well rounded knowledge of my course, but more often than that expanded my mathematical knowledge and capabilities in different aspects. As such, as well as helping me achieve good grades in my Winter exams, he has taught me new and polished up old techniques, making me a better mathematician overall.
Huw is a patient and friendly tutor with tremendous teaching capabilities.
I would recommend him as a tutor as he is patient, really good at simplifying and explaining difficult maths questions and I feel much more confident now.
