Word and Image are always of my interest, so I chose to pursue my study a subject of art and language - Art History, and hope to help people to understand more about this charming subject. Language ability is foundational for such a subject, so I decide to offer language classes as well.
I used to be a more casual tutor who occasionally helped friends and their friends in connection to learn English and Chinese. However, after I have worked in the university as a project associate for a history and culture learning project, I became more interested and passionate less about teaching but more about helping people to learn. In the university, I did not only coordinate the project yet I developed learning curriculum and content for secondary and university students through thematising different seemingly boring topics into history and culture trials of interesting experiences. Now I would like to share my expertise of art historical knowledge with the others.
Currently, I am teaching a range of students, including 3~7 years old children and working adults Cantonese and Mandarin, an A-level student Economics, and a KS3 level homeschooling studrnt Visual Arts and Geography.
As art is found everywhere and language is to be used everywhere, I always use interactive and out of classroom approach to teach. I like to organise walks in museums and galleries for art history learners and in markets and shopping streets for language learners. This can help students to consolidate their memories much easier.
