I am a fully qualified Computer Science Master Teacher tutoring year 7 to year 13 (KS3 to A-level) full time.
As a Computer Science teacher for over ten years, founder of TeachAllAboutIT, and software developer I have worked with students to achieve both academic excellence and independent study. My passion for the subject is reflected in the progress that my students make, no matter their target. With a focus on progress, students build the confidence that allows them to flourish.
Being an author of a number of textbooks, and contributer for BBC Bitesize Computer Science, parents can be assured of my subject knowledge.
I have extensive experience of teaching Computer Science & IT within secondary schools and sixth forms and providing online private tuition with over 2000 hours experience.
As a computing at school master teacher, I train and support teachers to teach computing which has allowed me insight into curriculum development and how best practice can allow students to flourish.
My lessons focus on both subject content and student confidence. I strongly believe in building confidence which leads to independent learning, and building resilience in students with a "I haven't got it right YET, but I will" attitude.
Many of my lessons draw from my previous experience as a software developer before entering teaching in 2009, and this is an area which I have maintained a keen interest.
Whether students are studying towards A Level or GCSE exams, working towards SATS, or learning for the enjoyment of the subject, I am able to create a tailored tuition plan to suit their needs. In our first lesson, I will introduce both students and parents to the use of my online classroom, and discuss requirements to allow us to identify the best course of study to help you achieve your aims.
For students under 18, I strongly encourage a parent to be present until they are comfortable with the online learning environment. To participate in online tuition, a stable internet connection and headset is recommended.
Lesson prices shown include a 10% discount applied for students paying by half-termly invoice.
Parents may opt to pay monthly, however this discount is not applicable in order to cover the increased admin costs.
