Information About Henje - Pontyclun tutor - (5 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Henje:
After university I began tutoring and enjoyed it so much that I began tutoring full-time. After several years I now tutor Maths, Physics and Engineering. I have passion for the learning process and I continue to learn how to improve my method and understanding of the teaching process.
I have tutored 1-to-1 for over 9 years, mainly students taking GCSE and A-level, I have also tutored degree Level Maths, Physics and Engineering.
My students have ranged from age 6 up to adults.
I have several years experience with dyslexic, autistic and dyspraxic students and can provide excellent references.
My approach is creative and hands-on wherever possible - whether tutoring in person or online. The word "kinesthetic" describes my method well - as I focus on giving the student a firm understanding of the topic through constructing the concept themselves - this is achieved by a combination of specific questions and visual representations of the topic in question. I do not teach through repetitive problem setting as is so common in textbooks.
My students typically struggle with the subject because a teacher is absent, or perhaps the teacher is intimidating or simply lacks the ability to give the correct style of education that works for the individual in question. Sometimes my students already have a good teacher but they move through the topics slightly too fast and competition in the classroom is high, in these cases tuition can raise your standard to be able to effectively compete with the others and not feel left behind.
Whatever your needs, I look forward to working with you.

It is difficult to assess the progress my son has made to date as we have only had a few sessions with Henje but if his enthusiasm is nurtured and his confidence in problem solving improved then the sessions are worth every penny.
