Since i began studying Sociology i have grown passionate about the subject. I have a broad knowledge within the subject but what i have most interest in is class, education, welfare and social exclusion. I want to share the knowledge that i have but also to build upon it teaching is a two way experience for both the tutor and the learner. I have a joint degree in Psychology and Sociology and am eager to help and share what knowledge i have with those that are in need of it
I have had a little bit (less than a year) of teaching experience in a centre that helps young adults gain basic qualifications in Numeracy, Communications and ICT my role there was to help on a one to one basis with those that were in need of not only my help with their qualifications but also to help them to open up a little and build confidence.
I am aware that not all teaching styles suit all. My teaching style is informal what is important is that the learner feels comfortable in an environment that suits them. I will listen to what my learner needs from me and devise a plan that would suit them and their needs
