I am a fully qualified teacher with over 10 years of tutoring experience, currently working as an intervention tutor in a primary school in Leeds, leading small-group sessions in both maths and literacy.
I have recently moved into tutoring as a full time career, allowing me to dedicate my time and skills to helping build students' confidence and bridge the gaps in their education.
I have tutored students in both English and Maths from KS1 up to GCSE, with an excellent track record of exam results in both subjects. As a fully qualified teacher I have in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and of a wide range of teaching methods.
My experience as a class teacher has shown me the ways in which traditional classroom approaches can leave some students behind. This means I can better understand why my students might need extra input, and reassure them where necessary that they are not less able--they just haven't had the right teacher yet.
I believe in tailoring my approach to each student's learning style, so that they are receiving a bespoke education that can maximise their potential. Key to the process is helping students understand that there is nothing they can't learn--merely things that they don't understand yet.
Engaging them in the material, and showing them that they have all the tools they need to succeed, can take them further than they realised they could go!
