Helen

Drama Tuition in Forest Hill

I am an experienced creative who has worked across theatre/screen and audio for over a decade.

I tutor those who are wanting to start a career as an actor or 1-to-1's for those who want to rehearse their audition pieces before attending castings.

Whether you are booking me for yourself or your child please do drop me an email with what you are wanting to improve and I will happily create a unique plan to push your drama skills. Drama lessons are not always for actual drama exams, they could be auditions for drama school, auditions for work or indeed to boost your confidence for any form of public speaking or job interview - all of which I can help you work on. Let me know what you want to work on.

I have an enhanced DBS check which is available upon request.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught a huge range of drama schools and schools across London, the UK, Los Angeles and The Middle East.

I have taught KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4, Further Education, Higher Education, Universities, full-time Drama Schools and part-time Drama Schools.

I have taught from primary age to retired students over the years.

Tutoring Approach

I specialize in physicalizing scripts to bring them alive and going over any passages that may be difficult to understand - this is especially relevant to older texts including Shakespeare and other period pieces.

As part of the lesson - and only if ready and useful - monologues can be filmed for use on showreels and to watch back to see what casting directors see with advice.

The universal important thing is to enjoy the piece you are performing, to connect with it and to understand why you are sharing it, why is this piece important. We will work on bringing out the many layers of character in creating believable rounded performances.
