I have been a fully qualified Primary School Teacher for four years now, after attaining my PDGE from the University of Strathclyde. To strengthen my knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning, I am currently undertaking my Masters in Education where I am currently researching the impact of Growth Mindset and Mindfulness on learners. I am knowledgeable and confident in employing a wide range of learning and teaching styles to suit the needs of all learners. I create a nurturing learning environment where the needs of all abilities are met through the range of active, creative learning opportunities. I have taught across all stages including Primary 1 (for 3 years) and now Primary 7 therefore I have an in-depth understanding of pedagogical approaches to suit the needs of all learning ages and abilities.
I tailor all my lessons to suit the needs, interests and personalities of all learners in my care. I aim to ensure that I am providing rich learning experiences and providing pace, challenge and support where needed. I am an enquiring practitioner, continuously seeking ways to improve and strengthen my practice. I believe in an interactive, creative approach to learning, ensuring children are engaged and active throughout their learning experience. Through discussion with yourself and child, I shall create a tailored learning plan specific to your child’s learning needs. I will using my own knowledge of assessment to identify gaps and address these in a way which will suit your child's learning style.
