Information About Hazel - Clapham tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Hazel:
I am a recent graduate from Cambridge University where I studied French and Spanish at Trinity Hall College. I spent two years living in Paris, teaching English and eating copious amounts of baguette, before returning to the UK to try living in London. At the moment, I work for a legal recruitment **Contact Detail Removed** company which is an interesting change to education, but I miss having the opportunity to practice French and Spanish and helping others grow in their academic studies. When I am not working, I socialise a lot with my friends, I eat good food, bake fabulous cakes, go running and have recently started bouldering in attempt to combat my excessive sugar intake.
During my year abroad and my first year out of university, I worked as a language assistant in suburban Paris, predominantly teaching A-level students as well as some GCSE students. My lessons were conducted either in small groups or one on one, depending on the topic and exam schedule. I planned and adapted lesson material to suit different abilities after getting to know the students and understanding their individual academic needs. As well as working as a language assistant, I also took on individual tutoring for young children, teenagers and some adults.
My teaching is entirely dependent on the academic needs of the tutee so I will adapt my style and materials to suit the pupil. Generally speaking, we will always focus on their areas of weakness and personally, I like to closely follow the exam board and topics that are being studied in class in order to maximise results in examinations, which at GCSE and A-level age, is crucial.
