Maths and English Tutoring in Fareham

I have been a Primary school teacher for 12 years and have privately tutored alongside this. I am also a Mum of two so completely understand the worry that can come when your child is struggling with areas of the curriculum. I am currently available Friday afternoon /evening to provide tutoring for any child aged 4-8 years.

Tutoring Experience

I am a fully qualified Primary school teacher and have taught year R, 1 and 2 predominantly. This experience and knowledge enables me to help support children not only of this age but those up to 9 years who may be struggling. I have always received positive feedback from all tutees and their parents. I understand the importance of personalising education and concepts to each child. I have also received specialist training for children with a range of special educational needs and have worked for companies such as 'Kids' providing respite care for children up to 18 years.Due to the nature of my experience, the children I feel I can benefit the most are are lower ks2 (year 3 and 4) children who are under attaining or children who are currently attending Infant School. I am also English and Phonics lead at my school so have particular experience and knowledge in this area.

Tutoring Approach

No two children are the same and different children respond to different teaching styles. I have seen a real decline in children's confidence with the disruption of schooling over the past few years and so always offer plenty of praise and fun, active sessions to help build stamina, engagement and self-confidence. Where possible, I would build on your child's interests and make the subject mean something to them by completing activities that they want to do, whilst linking it to the national curriculum requirements and/ or their specific needs.I can offer support to parents with how to best help their children at home and/or support children directly.
