I am a highly committed, dedicated and enthusiastic individual. I have always had a passion for the subject of psychology and following my success teaching and inspiring in others my enthusiasm for the subject, combined with the work I did with clients as a support worker, I recently went back to studying myself and have completed my Masters in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology.
I am hard working, organised, these skills were developed further, whilst studying for my PGCE. As I continued to work, went to lectures, and carried out different placements, which required lesson planning, while meeting all deadlines; I did this while being a single parent. I am dedicated, have the ability to multi-task and prioritise which I believe will make me an asset.
I am currently tutoring several students privately, ranging from as level to university level.
I also teach a small group of home school teenagers gcse psychology on a weekly basis.
During my two years of my PGCE (2013-2015) I acquired several teaching placements; my first year I taught AS Level Psychology and Access to Health and Social Care course in Gower College Swansea. During my second year I taught BTEC Forensic Psychology and Access to Health and Social Care course again.
My main responsibilities were creating interactive resources, planning lessons, researching current practice to ensure accuracy and relevance and also monitoring student progress, which I also had to submit regularly during observation lessons.
I also held workshop sessions for those studying the access course as they had to design and carry out their own projects and research, I was responsible for facilitating and assessing the action research projects that students undertook.
I have taught at different levels and am happy to adapt my approach to tutoring to the learners needs and ways of learning.
