Degree and Postgraduate student of The University of Winchester.
Has a sense of humour.
Creative and welcoming personality with a professional approach.
I am a very patient, fair and calming teacher who has worked with some very challenging behaviour. I am able to use these developed skills in order to help children who may be emotionally vulnerable, struggling at school or struggling with their behaviour.

I am used to working with people from the ages of 3months old- 30+ and so I have developed a very flexible and student centred approach to teaching.

I offer help and support in the following areas:

EYFS: Phonics, Reading, Writing, maths and preparing for school.
KS1/KS2: English, Maths and Study-Skills
GCSE: Maths/ English / Study Skills
A-Level/University: Essay/Dissertation proof reading, Study-Skills.

  • Primary and Secondary Maths and English: EYFS up to GCSE.
  • Additional needs support: Autism, Dyslexia, Auditory Processing, Speech and Language, EAL, behavioural and emotional support.
  • Homework and project help.
  • Essay and dissertation proof reading.
  • Exam revision and planning support.
  • Research and note taking.

Tutoring Approach

Please see a breakdown of how tuition would work:
1. Understand on how my students learn best before beginning lessons and if necessary, take note of interests and goals. Sometimes, this will include a Skype meeting with parents or a face to face meet to share credentials and get to know who I'm working with.

  1. View a previous piece of work/ previous grades to understand how best to help the student move forward and gain confidence.

  2. Plan an initial lesson to understand strengths and areas of improvement, during which time I will also aim to teach the student something new or help them gain confidence, so they leave the lesson on a positive note. There is likely to be a piece of independent work.

Face to Face tuition:
4. Arrange regular sessions to ensure progress and include independent tasks that can take place outside of sessions and be marked every two weeks. Lessons are creative, varied and based around skill rather than just retention of knowledge.

Online:
4. Undertake regular online sessions with similar aims as face to face tuition. Often work involves sharing screens, joint writing or problem solving and the use of virtual whiteboards. Work can also be emailed, printed, scanned and shared.
5. I will research and make notes for students as necessary and receive their work to proof check and provide suggested changes as necessary. I will send notes and research to help with their studies.
