Personal Description:

I graduated from Durham university, gaining an upper 2nd class degree in geophysics with geology. I also studied at Bristol University, attaining an MSc in volcanology. I enjoy teaching Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Geology, especially at an early age (having taught children as young as 6). I am a Candidate Fellow of the London Geological Society, and am a member of International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior. I also have connections with the institute of physics.

I have been tutoring for a few years now, and have learnt much throughout this time.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience working with children in various settings, including tutoring a group of mixed age and ability students, as well as individuals. I have been supported by experienced teachers and they have helped develop my teaching skills.

I also completed half of a PGCE - leaving for health reasons. However this taught me formal pedagogy and how to work with primary school children

Tutoring Approach:

I'm fun loving, and aim to make sessions as interesting, dynamic and as hands-on as possible.

Particularly memorable sessions have included:
-Using string, toblerone and model bikes to memorise the circle theorems
-golden syrup and digestives to demonstrate convection
-creating two different volcanic eruptions

I am also very patient, and will spend as long as is needed on a topic, in order to ensure that the pupil is comfortable with a topic before moving on to the next. If you have any special requirements, please message me and I will try and find a way to accommodate you.
