I am a friendly and highly enthusiastic tutor who likes to make a difference to my tutees academic and personal profiles. I never 'clock watch' and will stay for as long as I need to in order to explain a topic the student doesn't understand. I am also always available via Skype /facetime/phone calls as my help goes above the tuition slot- you are paying good money for my services and so it is not just restricted to a 'one hour slot'. I have had students ring me at 2am in the morning of their exam and I do not have a problem with this! I am unlike any standard tutor as my help is available whenever it is needed; this is what has made me incredibly successful with my students.
I am always happy to take home extra work the student has done and return it for the next lesson.
Having been a student not too long ago (or as I like to think!), I can relate to my students and provide nifty tricks when it comes to answering exam questions. I stay up to date with exam boards and changes being made so I am always prepared for our lessons. I will bring the relevant exam questions so we can consolidate your childs learning.
Over the past three years, I have began to specialise in 11+ entrance exam preparation. To date, all of my students have managed to secure a place at their private/grammar schools across Coventry, Leicester and Birmingham. I will tailor the content taught to the school you are interested in applying to. I attended King Henry VIII myself and so have many resources available for private schools. I am also in close contact with specific grammar schools who are happy to provide me with extra resources which are invaluable in the students preparation.
Any questions at all, get in touch!
I will tailor my teaching methods depending on whether the student is a visual or auditory learner. Where a difficult concept is introduced, I will break it down to a simple manner and expand from there.
My main aim is to build the confidence of my student and make sure they know the understanding behind certain topics. This means they are actually learning the content which will put them in good stead for future studies.
For science tutoring, I tend to teach a topic to a student and then show them pre-prepared exam questions that I have printed from the relevant exam board. This helps to reiterate their learning. Plus, I can identify any topics they are finding hard to understand and address them there and then.
