I am a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and have a Mechanical Engineering degree. I have worked in the Railway industry for over 10 years applying Mathematics in all fields of railway vehicle design and engineering from stress analysis, fatigue prediction and railway gauging. My current role involves demonstrating that railway vehicles will not collide with other trains or railway infrastructure in normal operational service.
I provide home tuition, at a rate of £30 per hour depending on individual requirements + mileage. Appointments are available in the evenings and at weekends.
I am the HE (Higher Education) Manufacturing Course Leader at Central College and teach at both Further Education and Higher Education levels.
I understand the struggle that a student can have in understanding mathematics and I have experience in helping students succeed against such struggles. I believe in understanding the level of the student, understanding the requirements of the syllabus and the exam they are undertaking and bridging the gap by tailoring my teaching methods to cater for their needs.
