I studied maths at university, am a qualified teacher, and have 8 years of teaching experience. I strongly believe that no one is 'rubbish at maths' and that everyone has the potential to do well. If there's something a student doesn't understand, I like to try to take a different approach and find an explanation that makes sense to them. I'm currently studying to become a mindfulness teacher, but am looking forward to keeping up my maths through tutoring, and I look forward to helping your son/daughter make progress, enjoy learning maths and achieve their target grades.
I worked as a secondary school Mathematics teacher for 8 years, including 2 years at an International school in Thailand, and 1 year at a charity school in India. I have previously taught GCSE, IGCSE, Additional Maths, A Level, Further Maths A Level, Pre U and STEP. I have helped students prepare for Oxbridge interviews and have regularly given one to one tuition to students who needed extra support.
I like to relate maths to real life as much as possible, as well as use activities to make some of the more ‘boring’ topics, fun. I like to give my students problems and puzzles that help to improve their problem solving skills and independent thinking. I also like to encourage students to solve more challenging problems so that they really feel they are ready to face any problem going into an exam. I believe in personalised learning, and will always try to tailor lessons to the students needs and interests.
