My full qualifications include 10 A*s at GCSE, 4 As at AS Level, 2 A*s and 1 A at A2, as well as a 2.1 in English from the University of Cambridge.

I have been tutoring one-to-one for over six years, and have also taught in many schools and summer programmes.
My most rewarding paid experience was for a prestigious summer school in Cambridge, for two weeks in 2013 and then 2014. Planning my own classes and working in small groups, I taught literature and English as a foreign language in a dynamic and exciting way.
The bulk of my work in classrooms took place in Kathmandu, Nepal, where I spent six weeks teaching in an English-medium school in 2014. During that time, and whilst taking on pastoral roles at school and university, I have honed my ability to not only teach but effectively motivate and inspire my students.
As well as teaching English language and literature, I have a great deal of experience supporting Oxbridge applications, and have helped many students navigate the process successfully. I have provided assistance in preparing personal statements, Supplementary Application Questionnaires and interview practice. I also provide tailored reading lists and longer term advice for younger students not yet undergoing the application process.
I believe that every student has the potential to not only excel in their studies, but grow to enjoy and relish them. My background in pastoral roles lends itself to an empathetic and encouraging style of tutoring. Every student is different, and I work hard to get to know each one and find the best teaching methods for them.
For many students, the rush and noise of a classroom environment does not allow them to reach their full potential. When I take on a new client I begin by asking lots of questions to understand exactly how I can enhance their learning experience, what needs should be met, and how I can channel their interests into their studies. I have found that with a programme tailored to their needs, everyone has the ability to flourish.
