Personal Description:

First class BA in Philosophy (specialising in Mathematical Logic and Metaphysics) at University College London (UCL). I've been tutoring maths and philosophy students for the past three years now and I have found it a thoroughly rewarding experience.

In my spare time, I'm a keen musician and enjoy spending time in my studio in Stoke Newington.

Tutoring Experience:

I tutor mostly GCSE and A-Level mathematics and philosophy courses and I have a great command of all major exam boards. I’ve also tutored some very bright students in undergraduate logic and philosophy courses at UCL and KCL.

I've also had the pleasure of working with a number of students with additional needs.

Tutoring Approach:

Studying maths and philosophy is really one of the best ways to learn the skills necessary for practical and theoretical problem solving –but, often the way these subjects are taught in schools can be confusing and sometimes leave students disengaged.

I find that one-to-one tuition is particularly effective because it gives students that breathing space required to develop a thorough understanding of the content and because students benefit from practicing their skills in a relaxed setting.

I encourage a positive attitude towards studying maths and I remind students that the skills we’re practicing are not just Maths-GCSE-specific, but will prove useful across the board, particularly in developing a clear sense of structure and argument in essay writing.

Throughout my lessons, students are encouraged to recognise their academic targets and to practice the skills necessary for improvement.
