I have been teaching for 10 years and have worked with children who have fallen behind and need 1:1 intervention. I pride myself in building supportive and caring relationships with parents and children. I believe in challenging learners to achieve their potential whatever their starting point may be. I have experience with children who have Special Educational Needs and I have achieved good results in improving learning techniques and grades. I have raised 4 children myself and have many different techniques to engage learners and make learning fun!
I have previously worked with children from 4 years old up to 11 Years old. I have worked with children who have Special Educational Needs and have ran intervention groups in Numeracy and English in order to raise achievement. I have worked in a range of settings from Nursery, Independent schools and large city Primary schools. I am experienced in teaching phonics and preparing children for the Year 1 phonics test. I have prepared children for SAT'S in Year 2 and have gained excellent results.
I have a relaxed approach to learning and believe that a stressful environment wont get the best out of a child. We have to build a trusting relationship in which a child can easily say if they understand or not. I like to have fun and feel that learning should be a pleasurable experience. I want children to achieve their potential no matter where their starting point is.
