This is how 2 referees rated Francesca:
I am a third year PhD student at Royal Holloway University of London. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the same institution in 2015, finishing with a 2,1 with honours. I have been tutoring since my undergraduate degree and continued it through my PhD as I enjoy teaching.
I have a undergraduate teaching qualification and am an associate fellow of the higher education academy. I have experience tutoring triple science at GCSE, and then chemistry and biology at A Level, IB and degree level. I am also familiar with access courses. I am familiar with a range of learning disabilities (particularly dyslexia) through my qualification and personal experience.
For each session I make a handout for a specific topic based upon the syllabus and go through in detail to give "perfect answers" for students to revise from. I believe in focusing on the types of question the students struggle with and helping them to learn how to answer these effectively while explaining things on a one to one basis to smooth out any confusion. I like to make sure students are comfortable requesting topics and if there's a particular problem area that arises at school/university am happy to tailor sessions to this given a few days notice.
