Maths and English Lessons in Dewsbury

My friends, family and colleagues would describe me as being friendly, approachable and reliable. I have a strong passion for teaching. I love travelling and have visited a number of countries, I love experiencing culture first hand. I also love learning, about anything and everything. As I often tell my students there is never a limit to how much you can learn, this motivates them to want to learn but also understand that they also have things they can teach me.

Tutoring Experience

Throughout my career in education, I have developed a deep-rooted passion for facilitating individualised learning experiences that foster rapid educational progress among children. My journey has been marked by a rich tapestry of roles, including significant tutoring experience across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), Key Stage 2 (KS2), as well as specialised preparations for SATs and 11+ examinations. This broad spectrum of teaching experiences has equipped me with a versatile skill set and a profound understanding of the varied needs of students across different stages of their academic development.

My commitment to personalised education stems from working in formal education settings, where I honed my ability to adapt teaching methodologies to suit the individual learning styles and needs of each child. Whether it was through innovative lesson planning or the integration of engaging learning materials, my aim has always been to make learning accessible, enjoyable, and effective for all students.

As a former school Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), I have developed a keen insight into the importance of identifying and supporting the unique challenges faced by children with diverse learning needs. This role deepened my commitment to inclusive education and underscored the value of tailoring educational strategies to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive and make significant strides in their learning journey.

In tutoring, I bring all of these experiences together to create a holistic and adaptive approach to education. I am dedicated to not just improving academic outcomes, but also to building confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning in my students. My history in formal education settings, coupled with my specialized experience as a SENDCo, has provided me with a unique perspective on education. It is one that values the whole child and seeks to unlock their full potential through personalized, compassionate, and informed teaching practices.

My extensive background in tutoring and mentorship, coupled with my hands-on teaching experience, underscores my passion for personalized education and the transformative impact it can have on students' lives.

Tutoring Approach

My experience has shown me that significant educational progress is achieved when children are supported in a manner that acknowledges their individual strengths and areas for development. By fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment, I have had the privilege of witnessing remarkable transformations in my students. From early learners in EYFS making foundational strides in literacy and numeracy, to older students in KS2 surpassing expectations in their SATs and 11+ exams, the success stories are profoundly rewarding.

As I continue on this journey, I am committed to leveraging my background and skills to make a lasting impact on the lives of my students, guiding them towards academic achievements and instilling in them the skills and confidence necessary for lifelong learning.
