This is how 3 referees rated Fiona:
Hello! My name is Fiona and I studied music at Strathclyde University for four years, gaining an Honours Degree in Applied Music with Specialisation in Education. I am very passionate about music and I thoroughly enjoy teaching it, both in a classroom setting and also privately. I am fully registered with the GTC (General Teaching Council Scotland) and I have a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certificate.
I have taught Secondary School music for eleven years, covering all levels from National 3 to Advanced Higher. I have taught piano for eight years and have a 100% pass rate for pupils entered for ABRSM exams. I have also privately tutored secondary pupils who are studying for their National 5 and Higher understanding music exams.
Yourself or your child will learn in a very friendly, encouraging and relaxed way. A typical piano lesson will involve a bit of theory, scales and working on pieces. My teaching style is very encouraging and friendly as I believe learning an instrument should be a fun experience! I have taught many of my private pupils for years which I feel shows how much they enjoy their lessons. I have always had extremely positive working relationships with my pupils and their parents or guardians.
