Personal Description:

I recently graduated as a Master of Mathematics from Durham University. I am now working full time as a Software Engineer and I would be happy to teach A-level Maths students on weekends.

Tutoring Experience:

I tutored a few students for Maths A-level exams, volunteered to help Year 7 students with Maths during a whole year. I was also working as a marker during my last year at university: I was marking assignments of second year university students in a subject called Algebra II. Moreover, after graduating I tutored a first year university maths student in 5 modules during the first and second term.

Tutoring Approach:

I am always trying to provide very clear and detailed explanations making sure that each step of the solution is understood by the student. I also ask students questions throughout the lesson that will help them reach understanding of the topic better, make them think during the lesson and give me an indication whether more explanation is needed. After each session, I analyse lessons and try to improve my teaching technique by adapting to my student’s personality and by taking into account their mathematical abilities.
