Fedora Lynch, living in Leeds and currently studying for a Health Sciences degree with the Open University.
University graduate with ten years' experience working in international media, also having worked for the Italian Embassy before moving into international business media intelligence.
I am now studying full-time with the flexibility and time to offer tailored one-to-one tutoring from beginner level to high school GCSE and A-Levels, as well as support to university language students.
Tutoring Italian, Music and English (also as a foreign language) to individual pupils at primary and secondary school level, both in England and in France.
Conversational skills and translation/proofing on an as-needed basis, also for an international business intelligence company.
I value hard-work and motivation, while being patient and realistic about each individual's skill level and requirements.
It is important to encourage each pupil and work to their strengths and make use of their individual interests - confidence and enjoyment in the subject often leads to better results and the willingness to learn and therefore to make progress. Everyone is different, so adaptability and creating a trusting bond are essential.
I work with each student's current study plans to determine any areas that need more focus. It is often useful to go back to the basics and work up to ensure key concepts have been grasped, for a solid foundation.
I also like to use a variety of resources, both in book form and internet based, as well as encourage conversation and watch films in a foreign language to enhance vocabulary and become accustomed to the sounds and regularly paced speech.
