Personal Description:

I am an Italian PhD Student at the Kings College. My main focus is trying to understand the importance of cell division and how the mechanism works. I am really passionate of my job and this is why I decided to start to do tutoring so I can use my passion to help student to excel in biology topics.

Tutoring Experience:

I first gained experience with teaching during my internship at the Babraham Institute, Cambridge. Here, I had the opportunity to oversee a college student carrying out a one-month summer project in our lab.
Additionally, I had experience with public outreach, speaking to high school students about lab-based careers. Which has given me vital experience of engaging with young people, both individually and in-group situations
Moreover, thanks to my PhD I had the opportunity to be a demonstrator for undergraduate students during their laboratory practical classes. In these occasions, the demonstrators are on hand to assist the large groups of students in carrying out practical tasks, as well as assisting them to understand t he underlying theory.

Currently, I am doing tutoring with the Brilliant Club, where I am delivering tutorial regarding my PhD (Cell Biology) to students of K12 from selected school in London.

Tutoring Approach:

I think that the best way to tutoring is helping the student to understand the topic and help him/her to practise in an environment that is not as stressful as school. Moreover, through the knowledge that I acquired during my career path I can share my tips and advices as a former student to help them to reach the results that they want.
I will use books, scientific papers and what the internet offers to use different ways to teach and have the attention from the students.
