Personal Description:

I am a female tutor who is committed to working with vulnerable children and young adults with different statements of disability. I hold a master's degree titled: Psychological Perspectives in special education from the UCL Institute of Education in London. I am also a licenced mediator of the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment programme for cognitive modifiability - both at basic and standard levels.
Given my full-time commitment to my PhD thesis writing [also in the field of special education], I only tutor twice a week [three times in special circumstances] and a total of ten hours per week.
Besides taking on special needs students of different abilities, I am also passionate about the subject of psychology and I can take up to two student preparing for their A levels or IB Curriculum.
I only travel to clients in central Cambridge. However, I am happy to teach at my own place. For younger children identified with SEN, the mother's presence is a MUST!

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked as a special needs teacher in the Arab Gulf Area for four years before moving to the UK to pursue my higher education. I also have experience teaching psychology to young adults at school and university levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I follow a personalised tutee centred approach. By applying psychological techniques and examining learner's styles, I get to know my tutee and adjust my lessons, worksheets and activities to his/her personal needs. I take a genuine interest on my students' needs, interests and abilities and I focus on teaching them skills so that they grow more independent on their studies
