Hello, I am Faraaz Removed a 3rd year Oxford University Academic Scholar studying Graduate Entry Medicine.
I achieved a first class degree from Oxford University in Biomedical Sciences in 2018. Before this, I attended St Paul's School London for both (i)GCSEs achieving 10A* and 2As and A levels achieving 2A*s 2As and an A in another AS level.
I have already spent 4 years tutoring students aged 7-16 Maths and English through a university scheme every weekend for 2-3 hours during term time.
This experience really showed me how rewarding teaching can be. I always enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the inquisitive nature of the students I have already come across.
I am also a university tutor for St Catherine's college teaching my specialist subjects Infection and Immunity for undergraduate medicine and biomedical sciences students.
I like to take a very open approach to teaching where I guide the student to the answer without explicitly revealing them to it. This is often done by giving hints and clues which aim to trigger a thought process which leads to the correct answer. This is not only a more enjoyable way of learning but in my opinion a very important life skill, to be able to figure out a problem without the answer being clearly stated. This is a skill that is extremely advantageous in both exams and interviews helping one to think on their feet.
