I have been teaching Physics for 16 years and currently teach Physics at a renowned independent school in Edinburgh. Prior to this appointment I spent a year teaching HSC Physics (A level equivalent) and Science at Moriah College in Sydney. Prior to that, for 5 years, I was a teacher of Physics at a highly academic, independent girls school in the City of London with a proven track record in improving students' results at all levels. While in London I taught edexcel IGCSE Physics (99% A*/A) and AQA A level (100% A-C). I also have experience in the Scottish system, teaching Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher Physics. I am currently teaching physics full time in Dunfermline.
I have 16 years experience teaching and tutoring Physics at secondary school levels, in Scotland, England and Australia. I am enthusiastic about my subject and adept at placing it in context for students of all backgrounds and abilities. My teaching practice has encompassed a wide variety of schools with children from the entire spectrum of social background and learning needs.
My approach is based on tried and tested techniques, tailored to an individual learner's needs. I demand that my tutees take responsibility for their learning and complete focused tasks prior to tutorial sessions. This ensures that we make the best use of our time together, working on specific areas which the student has helped to identify. I am able to supply a broad range of Physics exercises, designed to reinforce knowledge and build essential problem solving skills
