Erin

Hello, I'm Erin!
Sewing, design and everything about it has been a passion of mine ever since I could remember. I have made all sorts of bits and bobs from a Chinese style bag in my Textile GCSE course to a 3D Madonna themed toilet cubicle in my degree! I have numerous qualifications within textiles and design and I also worked 9-5 in the fabric industry. I am an avid seamstress and a professional machine embroiderer.
Hardworking, flexible and a bubbly character to bring to the table :)

Tutoring Experience

I have done one-to-one and group sessions in the past for those who are wanting to learn basic sewing skills and portfolio work. I am a people person, so my experience with and working with everyone of all ages comes as second nature to me. I have had experience working in a Secondary School and have a good general knowledge of what the curriculum and teachers are after in their work.
Even though I would be a helping hand with what you are working on currently or future projects, it would also be a learning curve for myself :)

Tutoring Approach

So we find a topic that you are wanting to learn more about or something you are interested in and find a way to create that into a personal project.

Theory and written work - 10% and when needed
Practical - 90%

I provide everything.. all tools, haberdashery, standard cotton fabrics, including a basic sewing machine if needed! We start at the top and then make our way through and hopefully have a finished project to show off at the end.
With curriculum projects, I aid sections of your work that need more attention to detail and work on a specific parts for an hour or two, this way we are able to complete the necessary modules without stress and to the best of your ability.

Having a practical approach rather than a written/reading silent hour, we are able to create a happy and relaxed environment and a nice place to learn a new hobby or to obtain a better grade to take on to a higher level.
