Irish guy here who recently moved to Manchester. Full-time maths teacher key stage 3 and 4.
I taught in universites for three years before taking the plunge into secondary school teaching. I have been working in fulltime employment in secondary schools, teaching maths, for 2 years. This has given be invaluable experience in how people learn, as well as a deep understanding of the GCSE curriculum.
My three years teaching at university level has given me a deep love and understanding of higher level mathematics. I have worked in reasearch with a high element of mathematical concepts.
I went back to university in 2010 to get my degree in mathematics. I received a first class honors degree in 2014. Throughout my degree i worked part time as a tutor for sencondary school pupils.
I believe in a no one size fits all policy. Each learner has different needs. In the early stages of tutoring we identify and address any gaps, misconceptions or areas needing improvement.
During the 2018/19 academic year I have tutored a number of year 11 pupils over the course of the year in preparation for their GCSE examinations.
