I have been a German teacher for 22 years, the last 18 of which have been at 2 different grammar schools in Tunbridge Wells. I teach students from Years 7 through to 13 and am currently teaching the new specification of the GCSE and A’level examinations. I am happy to teach long-term students or offer more intensive exam prep courses.
I have been a qualified MFL teacher since 2001 and have been teaching in secondary schools for the last 22 years. I have worked with a range of abilities and have aided numerous students with university applications for language courses. I have had students who have successfully been accepted into Oxbridge to study languages and have experience of teaching the MLat. Previous to teaching in the UK, I worked as a language assistant and private tutor in 2 schools in Germany and also completed some teacher training in Austria.
I have a huge wealth of resources ranging from PowerPoints and worksheets to games which I use in my teaching. As an experienced teacher I have developed ways of explaining difficult grammatical concepts so that they can be more easily understood and I have numerous strategies for helping pupils to learn and retain vocabulary. I constantly update my resources and change them according to my learner’s needs. I have a large bank of assessment resources and exam papers for revision purposes. I prefer to tutor from home but would consider travelling a short distance. I live fairly centrally in Tunbridge Wells and very close to the majority of the secondary schools. I can also tutor online.
