Our Sons time with Emma was very brief, unfortunately sessions were regrettably cut short by the development of measures taken by the Government over the Coronavirus. However for the sessions he was able to attend we felt that he was understanding the course with more clarity which would only have benefited him in the exam, Emma was always available to answer any questions.

Emma is very supportive and caters exactly to what your needs are - for example, with my lessons, we stuck closely to the exam board specifications and went from there, which I hadn't had in my lessons at college. I have been away and Emma has kept in contact, continuing to review my essays despite us not being in the same country. Would highly recommend Emma as a tutor for exam support.

Unfortunately, I have had to cancel this tutor after I received an email from her that contradicted the very important arrangements that we initially agreed on. A mistake on her part which she apologised for but not something I am willing to overlook.

Armando it’s such a shame that you made the decision - after purchasing my details - to change your mind about lessons. I informed you at the time that i was happy for you to come in with your daughter at the start of the lesson and then sent you out the standard lesson confirmation email that I sent to all parents. I was very confused as to why you had mis understood what I had said as it was made very clear but you obviously had your reasons for reading into something that wasn’t there be for that reason I think it’s best that I don’t teach your daughter. Best of luck in your search for a suitable tutor.

Didn't have a chance to have lessons as we couldn't find convenient times. I was booked for a lesson but couldn't pay before that lesson and Emma's rule was to pay before the lesson so I wanted to reschedule but that time wasn't suitable either.

So I thought emailed first tutors asking if I could have a Refund as I would find another tutor, first tutors told me to rate Emma and I did.
Emma told me to remove the rating as I didn't look at the rating properly and rated her wrongly.
First tutors said I have to rate her negatively to get a refund.

It's such a shame that you weren't able to pay for the lesson in advance of the booked session. As I explained to you at the time because you had booked online tuition and weren't able to see me face to face I always request an upfront payment to secure the booking. I wish you the very best of luck in your studies.

Well I have to say our first few weeks with Emma have proved to be a great success. Our teenage son has really taken to her teaching style and has done the best homework he has produced for years (fully acknowledged by the school). The real bonus for us is that Emma sees him once a week and then does two pieces of on line feedback on his draft work - and even in the on line sessions provides additional material and videos for him to use.

Emma began by tutoring my daughter in GCSE history, however, she now also teaches my daughter for English. Like most teenagers beginning year 11 at the moment, my daughter was very anxious and overwhelmed. Emma has, without a doubt, taken away a lot of that pressure and my daughter is now developing in confidence as a learner and her motivation has significantly increased.
Emma is incredibly professional and very organised. She has been flexible with timings, when necessary, and ensures that details of all tutorial sessions are sent via text or email promptly. This makes sure that everyone is very clear about arrangements.
She is an excellent teacher with outstanding subject and specification knowledge. She plans in depth for every session, being able to cover not only a great deal of curriculum content, but also structure for timed exam questions and feedback. She sets challenging independent tasks that address the 'gaps' in learning, for example essay questions, research or reading. Where relevant this work is always marked promptly and in depth, focused feedback is given, as well as ways to improve.
Emma is a kind and warm person and made my daughter feel welcome and supported immediately. She exudes confidence as a teacher and my daughter practically skips out of her sessions.

Since working with Emma, my daughters results in both English and English literature have significantly improved. Both her mock exam and homework results have improved by at least one grade or two. What she has also found is that applying the techniques Emma has helped her understand (for example improving the structure and focus to the way she answers exam questions) to other subjects such as history, she has also improved in these. We couldn't recommend her highly enough!

After spending an hour a week with Emma for about 9 months he sat his GCSE's and got C's in both English Language and English Literature. Originally I came to Emma in order to improve my media A-level grade C to a B in order to gain entry to my chosen university. However, with her help I was able to achieve an A*.
Emma was an incredible support and helpful tutor. She was very quickly able to assess and tailor our sessions to suit what I most needed help with. I would recommend her highly to anyone who required a media tutor.
