I am a full-time Primary Teacher and registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
Also, I have a keen interest in both the spoken and written language, haven studied German up to University level.
In 2017, I gained my first class honours degree in Primary Education at the University of Aberdeen. I currently hold a permanent teaching post with Aberdeenshire Council.
I have worked in a number of schools so far during my degree across both Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils. I have experience in planning for and teaching children at early, first and second level in all curricular subjects. Moreover, I have had nearly 2 years experience tutoring children aged 5-14 in Maths and English and have undertaken a course which supports children looking to sit entrance exams for Albyn School, Robert Gordon's College and St. Margaret's School for Girls. I also have vast experience providing tutoring for children with a vast range of ASN (additional support needs).
I am both supportive and encouraging to the children I work with, ensuring that I strike a positive balance between nurturing their learning and allowing the child to problem solve and become an independent learner. I firmly believe that a compassionate and caring attitude towards any child will enable them to build trust and will allow them to perform at their best. I am also more than willing to go above and beyond for all learners, specifically tailoring my tutoring style to each child. I am also a firm believer that learning should be a fun and engaging experience and I always try to embody this in my tutoring sessions.
