Information About Emma - Brodick tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Emma:
I have recently been teaching all three sciences up to GCSE/ Standard Grade (National 5) level in a local secondary school. My specialism is Biology, and I have an MSc in Medical Molecular Microbiology, from the University of Aberdeen Medical School. I have previously taught both GCSE / Standard Grade, and A-level / Higher, and Advanced Higher Biology. I am able to offer tuition also in chemistry to Standard Grade (National 5) / GSCE level. I have worked with students of varying abilities, and am able to support those with additional learning needs in a calm, but enthusiastic manner. I have tutoring experience across North East Scotland with pupils from Ellon Academy, Inverurie Academy, Hazlehead Academy, Mintlaw Academy, Meldrum Academy, and the University of Aberdeen. I have recently moved back to the Isle of Arran.
I have approximately 10 years teaching experience (see above comments), having taught as a Science teacher in a secondary school for the past four years, and previous to that in an Outdoor Education Centre, on the Isle of Arran. I am qualified in Biology to M.Sc level, and also have experience of teaching Chemistry and Physics.
I use a range of approaches in tutoring depending on the particular difficulties a student may have, or where their weaknesses lie, or simply to assist students in attaining the high grades they are aiming for. My tutoring sessions have focused specifically on work being covered by the pupil at their school with the additional aid of multiple choice / summary questions where necessary, or where requested, specific help towards essay writing techniques.
