Information About Emily - Lambeth tutor - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Emily:
I am a Chartered Health Psychologist, with a professional qualification commensurate with doctoral level training gained through the British Psychological Society. I have a BSc(Hons) in psychology and an MSc in Health Psychology.
I currently work in psychology research at University College London (UCL). I have previously worked for the NHS and University of Stirling.
I taught a health psychology module to final year undergrade students, and marked/graded assignments as part of their final degree. I have also delivered lectures on motivational interviewing and behaviour change to medical students at University of Edinburgh.
In the NHS, I trained groups of health professionals in psychological techniques, providde **Contact Detail Removed** with regard to applied statistical design and presented work to large groups of trainees and professionals.
In the past I have worked with children and young people with special needs, through helping assist taught classes in subjects such as art, drama, music and sports.
Unofficially, I have helped family friends with school work and University assignments.
In my opinion, structure, organisation, and simplification are the keys to success when learning and growing academically. I feel that stripping down to the basics and building on a topic is the best way to fully engage yourself and understand. Enjoyment is key.
Creativity with teaching in the form of real life examples, diagrams, and mnemonics are especially useful when retaining information. Having qualified in psychology, I am aware and fully take advantage of key techniques which help with memory. For example, mind maps, itemised stories, attaching information onto pegs along a line, rhymes and linking sentences. These have been extremely helpful in helping get through my degree, and I am confident that at least one of these methods are beneficial to everyone when learning.
