My name is Emily, and I would love the opportunity to help you, or your son or daughter grow in confidence by helping them develop their English Language and Literature skills. I am a confident, approachable person, who aims to instil drive and confidence in all of her pupils, helping them to achieve their true potential.
I have worked with children and young adults since the age of 14, and have worked as a Learning Support Assistant/ English teacher at an outstanding Liverpool school.
I worked one-to-one with students who are struggling with their academic attainments for a variety of different reasons; from a special educational need to behavioural issues. The support I give the pupils aims to help them to grow in confidence of what they can achieve!
Moreover, I run additional GCSE classes, meaning I am regularly exposed to past papers and mark schemes, allowing me to help my students write the best possible answers for higher level marks.
Having recently graduated with a 2:1 degree in English Language from the University of Reading, studying is still something that is very fresh in my mind, something which I feel I use to my advantage as a tutor of English.
I am a friendly, approachable person and I aim to make all tutoring sessions enjoyable as well as productive. I use a variety of resources, and can adapt to fit the needs of my tutees, whether this be more visual methods for younger children, or timed essay practice for GCSE and A Level students.
