Personal Description:

Emilie is currently a researcher in International Humanitarian Law, and a Research Fellow at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge.

Prior to this, Emilie worked as a fee-earner at Baker & McKenzie, specialising in cross-border transactions and general corporate matter.

Emilie has a double degree (Maitrise/LLB) in French and English law, with a particular focus on EU Law, as well as an LLM from UCL with a specialisation in public international law.

Tutoring Experience:

Emilie has substantial tutoring experience, with both children as well as young adults.

She has been a law tutor and mentor for undergraduate and postgraduate level students through various tutoring agencies, and also regularly delivers French lessons to both adults and children which she greatly enjoys.

She has also been a teaching assistant during several school trips, where she was in charge of a group of 6 students, and helped with the organisation and structure of lessons.

Emilie thoroughly enjoys tutoring, and finds great satisfaction in helping her tutees attain their maximum potential, and thus the highest grades.

Tutoring Approach:

Because of her multicultural background and multi-jurisdictional education, Emilie benefits from an adaptable personality, and a friendly as well as efficient approach to tutoring. She believes that putting the student's needs at the center of each lesson is key to furthering their understanding of the topic and help them achieve top grades.

Her tutorials usually take the shape of a dialogue, where she will make sure that the tutee is at ease and confident to ask any questions he or she may have. Because of her past experiences, Emilie is quick at understanding the difficulties tutees may have, and benefits from an array of tools due to her past experiences to help them in overcoming these issues.

As such, Emilie adapts her lessons to the level and various needs of each of her tutees, whilst always making sure that they are fully prepared for any exam or essay submission they may have.
