Information About Elspeth - Wishaw tutor - (5 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Elspeth:
I am positive and patient person who is always willing to adapt and find innovative methods in order to help students develop a greater understanding of their subject area(s). I am calm and consistent in my approach to tutoring and my friendly manner puts students at ease in order that they may get the best out of their tutoring sessions.
I have been teaching for 6 years, I have worked in mainstream, a behaviour support base, a language and communication unit with children with autistic spectrum disorders and currently teach in a Gaelic medium nursery. I tutor on a regular basis, mostly at primary level and this includes tutoring pupils with additional support needs. I have experience teaching at all levels of the primary school and also tutor pupils in secondary school.
I take an informal approach to tutoring particularly with youger students and prefer that students call me by first name so that I am not seen as an extension of the classroom which may have a negative effect on some pupils. I create a calm and structured environment and use practical activities where possible to consolidate learning in an enjoyable way.
