Hello! My name is Ellie. I graduated in 2015 from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in Philosophy and Politics. I was awarded with the Deans Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and the Michael Polanyi Memorial Prize for Philosophy.
For the last 4 years, I have tutored students in reception, GCSE and A level.
For 3 years, I worked for Arts Emergency in Manchester. I planned and gave Philosophy and Politics lessons in local schools, with the aim of inspiring and helping children from lower socio-economic backgrounds to gain places on degree courses in the Arts and Humanities.
Teacher of English, Science and Maths at Pal Ewam Monastic School, Nepal. For two months I worked with children aged between 5 and 17 teaching a variety of subjects. I prepared the class material and taught 7 classes a day.
My teaching style is adaptable and I tailor lessons around the student's individual needs. I am very passionate about Philosophy and Politics, which filters down to my teaching, promoting an enjoyable way of learning. I encourage an interactive method of learning, where students feel comfortable asking questions and we can expand on areas of interest.
