Where to start! BRILLIANT is the first word that springs to mind.
Liz has been absolutely brilliant. She has spent time teaching, supporting and guiding my son, Ben, through A level psychology. She communicated with me regularly and responded quickly to any queries we have had.
Liz listened to what Ben needed and adapted the sessions accordingly. She was flexible with days and times and always, always accommodated the needs of Ben and his sometimes forgetful nature, even extending some of the sessions he had to make sure everything was covered and understood. He never missed any sessions - thank you Liz for your patience with a teenage boy!
The sessions covered everything thoroughly. Ben commented ‘Why can’t we learn like this at school? It makes sense now!’ I think that says it all.
Ben enjoyed his sessions, Liz’s background means that she knows exactly what is needed to answer A level exam questions. Ben learned what he needed including how to answer exam questions, how to revise and felt confident asking for explanations in areas he found difficult. Liz made it make sense.
After every session Liz emailed notes to Ben which helped to guide his revision and focus his mind.
She is an excellent teacher, Ben learned so much with her. She helped to restore his confidence and he went into his exams with a positivity he wouldn’t have had without her teaching and guidance.
I cannot thank Liz enough for her time and care. She made a difficult time much easier. If you’re looking for a tutor look no further - Liz is definitely the one for you!

Liz stepped in at the last minute to give my anxious year 12 a pre-exam session. He'd missed several weeks of lessons. One session that boosted his confidence, helped him organise his thoughts and calmed him enough to do well in the exam. It all felt a bit unorthodox because he wouldn't have his camera on but Liz wasn't fazed. He really liked her and we'll be back in touch to book more sessions next term, I am sure. Really grateful to her. He said it made such a difference.
UPDATE: I've only realised today that I didn't actually post this from last year! He got an A in his exam, which astonished him. Liz has continued to tutor him periodically and has been brilliant. She's extremely warm and supportive and her communication with me as a parent is brilliant. (She's said some things that have calmed me too!) I highly recommend her!

Knowing how excellent tutors are always oversubscribed, we feel very lucky to have had tutoring for my son from Liz in A level psychology, for the whole of this academic year. Liz is well organised and well informed about the requirements of the various A level syllabuses. She is obviously hugely experienced, having been a classroom teacher for many years. I believe she is able to tap in to this experience to tailor the session to the individual needs of the student. She has been very patient and encouraging with my son, who finds remembering facts difficult, but am sure she would be equally excellent with very able students. She has a kind personality, is an efficient communicator, and has been very generous with her time, often staying well over the official hour. I can have no hesitation in recommending her.
